Replace The Lens Cap On A Powershot G3

Canon's PowerShot G3 camera comes standard with a lens cap and a lens-cap strap. Out of the box, neither accessory is installed on the camera. You'll have to install it yourself. Additionally, the lens cap or lens-cap strap may require replacing eventually. Although the items are designed to last the life of your Canon PowerShot G3, they may become physically damaged at any time. Order your replacement lens cap from Canon to ensure that the piece fits your PowerShot G3.

Instructions

1. Grasp the old lens cap and remove it from the lens. Then loop the part of the strap attached to the lens toward the strap holster. Grasp the plastic buckle and slide it up to create slack. Feed this part of the strap through the loop around the strap holster. This releases the old strap from the lens and subsequently, from the Canon G3.

2. Slide the tip of the new strap through the strap holster. Feed the tip through the natural loop created and then slide down the buckle to secure the strap to the holster.

3. Feed the edge of the strap through the small loop on the lens cap, and then feed it through the natural loop that is created. Pull it to tighten it, and then snap the lens cover onto the Canon G3 lens.
