Transfer Pictures From Cell Phone To Computer

Plug your phone's USB cable into your computer and transfer your photos in a snap.

Picture messaging or emailing your pictures to get them off your cell phone is not always the best way to transfer the photos to your computer. Unless you have an unlimited plan, you will pay for each message sent. Also, what if you used your camera phone while on vacation and have a ton of pictures? Transfer those photos to your computer quickly using the method that best suits your needs.

Instructions

1. Use the USB cable to transfer the photos from your cell phone to your computer. Unless your cell phone is the 80s brick model, it probably has USB capability. You may need to purchase a data connect kit that is specific for your brand of cell phone if a USB cable did not come with it. The kit will include a data cable as well as the software (if necessary) to transfer your photos.

2. Plug your phone's USB cable into your phone and computer. Follow your phone's specific instructions to activate its storage drive. Drag and drop the pictures off your phone into the photo file on your computer. Disconnect your phone according to its instruction to avoid damaging your memory card.

3. Use your removable memory card. If your phone is equipped with a removable memory card you will find it very easy to just remove the card and use it to move the photos from your cell phone to your computer. To use this option you may need to purchase a memory card reader. Just make sure to purchase the correct type of reader for your memory card.

4. Remove the memory card from your phone per its specific instructions. Insert the memory card into the reader/adapter. Plug the reader into an available port on your computer. Open the memory card's drive and transfer the photos from your phone to your computer.
