The Quest 2 is a portable GPS navigation system produced by Garmin. It is ideal for use in a vehicle, and can be easily moved from your car to your pocket to help you navigate on foot. The Quest 2 has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase. If, however, you own a Quest 2, it is possible to update the system's preloaded maps by downloading updates for your GPS from Garmin's website.
Instructions
1. Visit Garmin.com and check to see if your Quest 2 is registered on the site. If your GPS is already registered, you may not qualify for a free map update. Even if you purchased your Quest 2 years ago, however, you qualify for a free update as soon as you register the system with Garmin.
2. Connect your Quest 2 GPS to your computer using a USB cable.
3. Visit Garmin.com and select the map update that corresponds with the current year.
4. Enter your credit card information to pay for the map update if you do not qualify for a free update.
5. Download the map update. After the map update has downloaded, you will be given a confirmation number. Write down the confirmation number.
6. Run the map update that you have just installed.
7. Accept the license agreement that appears on your screen and select "Next."
8. Wait while the program installs any firmware or software that your Quest 2 needs.
9. Enter the confirmation number when prompted.
10. Wait while the program installs the current year's map updates. This process can take an hour or longer.
11. Select "Finish" when the download is complete. This will exit the program. You may then unplug your GPS and begin using its updated maps.
