A slingbox allows you to watch your television from anywhere in the world using a laptop or mobile smartphone. There are three Slingbox model choices available. The one you choose depends on what type of television service you have at home.
Instructions
1. Determine what type of television connection you want to hook up to your Slingbox. You might have basic cable, a satellite hook-up, a cable box and/or a high definition television.
2. Decide whether you want to hook up more than one video source to your Slingbox. Video sources other than your television lineup can include a DVD player, DVR or a closed-circuit camera.
3. Consider a Slingbox AV if you don't have HD service and you only want to hook up one video source to your Slingbox. The Slingbox AV provides everything you need for a very reasonable price.
4. Look at the Slingbox Solo if you have HD service and only want to stream one video source to your laptop or cellphone. The Solo is the middle-of-the-road model and is priced accordingly. You may also want to consider the Solo if you anticipate getting HD service in the near future.
5. Choose the Slingbox PRO if you want the top-of-the-line Slingbox model. It offers HD compatibility and the option to connect up to four video source inputs.
