The Jeep Wrangler is the quintessential Jeep, owing its rugged good looks and heritage to the very same vehicles that powered the American Army in World War II. Of course, today's Jeeps offer many more amenities than those did, including stereos and CD players. Jeep owners who want to enjoy some great tunes while they're enjoying their ride will find the Jeep Wrangler easy to upgrade, and adding speakers to the vehicle is a great place to start.
Instructions
Replacing the front speakers
1. Remove the two phillips screws you'll find on the outside edges of the speaker grilles. When the screws are out, pull the grille straight away from the dashboard.
2. Pull the foam baffle away from the speaker, then take out the four screws holding the speaker in place. Pull the speaker out, and disconnect the speaker wires.
3. Connect the new speaker to the speaker wiring, mount it into the dash, replace the foam baffle and put the speaker grille back into position.
Replacing the rear speakers
4. Take out the four phillips screws holding the rear speakers' grille in place. Pull the grille away, making sure you account for the four spacers that are behind the grill.
5. Pull the old speaker out and disconnect the wiring.
6. Connect the wiring to the new speaker, place it into the opening, and reattach the spacers and grille with the phillips screws.
