Use A Sb28 With A Pentax K200d

You can use the Nikon SB-28 Flash on the Pentax K200D camera.

The Pentax K200D is a digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera that has a 10.7-megapixel CCD (charge coupled device) sensor. The camera was released in 2008 and like most other DSLR's on the market it has a built-in flash. When that flash is not strong enough to illuminate the scene the photographer is shooting, an external flash like the Nikon SB-28 can be used. While the Nikon SB-28 flash is designed to work with Nikon cameras, it can be used on cameras other than Nikon.

Instructions

1. Turn the power switch on the Pentax K200D and the Nikon SB-28 to the off position. Slide the Nikon SB-28 external flash onto the hot shoe located on the top of the Pentax K200D. When the flash is on the hot shoe, turn the locking ring on the bottom of the flash to secure it in place.

2. Rotate the switch that surrounds the shutter release on the Pentax K200D to the on position. Turn the exposure mode dial located on the top left of the camera to either "M" for manual, or "P" for program, "TV" for shutter priority or "AV" for aperture priority. The Nikon SB-28 flash will work on the Pentax K200D but only in the manual and automatic settings. The flash will not work with Pentax's programming for the scene shooting modes that are identified by icons.

3. Press the power button on the back of the Nikon SB-28 to turn it on. Press the "Menu" button on the back of the flash and select either "Manual" or "Automatic" shooting modes. When used on Nikon cameras, the SB-28 is designed to work in conjunction with Nikon cameras, but will work in these two modes when used with other cameras.

4. Hold the Pentax K200D up to your eye, look through the viewfinder, compose the picture and when you are satisfied with the picture, press the shutter release button on the Pentax K200D to take the picture.
