Convert Palm Contacts To Android Phone

Android phones sync contacts with the online Gmail contacts feature. You can import contacts to Android easily through the Web interface of Gmail. The contacts are then automatically synced to your phone. The Palm contacts are automatically synced with the Palm Desktop software. You can export the Palm contacts from the Palm Desktop software and import them into Google Contacts to have them on your Android phone in a matter of minutes.

Instructions

1. Sync your Palm device with the Palm Desktop software so that the most recent updates to your contacts are contained on your computer.

2. Click on the drop-down menu in the upper right of the Palm Desktop window and choose your username. Click on the "Contacts" component.

3. Click "File" and then select "Export." Type in a file name and choose a location for the file, for example, your computer's Desktop. Set the "Export Type" to "Comma Separated Variable (.CSV)" and select "All" as the Range. Click "Export."

4. Navigate to mail.google.com and log in with the Google account you use on your Android phone. Click on the "Contact" link on the left.

5. Click "More Actions" and then choose "Import." Select "Choose File" and then point to the CSV file you created. Click "Import."

6. Unlock your Android phone and, from the home screen, press the "Menu" button. Tap "Settings" and then tap "Accounts and Sync." Tap on your Google Account name in the list and then tap on "Contacts" to put a green check in the box next to it. Tap "Save." The contacts will sync to your phone in just a few minutes.
