The Sony Vaio Z Series is a line of laptop computers for home and business use. You have two options for powering your Sony Vaio Z Series laptop: the AC adapter or a battery pack. The battery pack allows you to use the laptop when a power outlet is not convenient. In time the battery will hold less of a charge and power your Vaio for a shorter amount of time. Sony sells replacement batteries for Vaio laptop computers you can use to increase the amount of time you can use the computer without the AC adapter.
Instructions
1. Purchase a replacement Vaio battery from Sony or from a reputable source.
2. Turn off the Sony Vaio Z series computer, close the screen and turn over the laptop so that the bottom of the computer is facing up.
3. Locate the battery on the bottom of the laptop. The battery is located near the screen hinge and has a "Lock" and "Release" switch on it.
4. Press the "Lock" switch to release the lock.
5. Push the "Release" switch and pull the battery out of the laptop.
6. Press the "Lock" switch of the new battery and slide the back of the battery into the battery compartment, near the hinges.
7. Push down on the front of the battery until you hear a click.
8. Move the "Lock" switch back to its starting location to secure the battery in the laptop.
