Dropped calls on any phone can be frustrating. Despite a smartphone's advanced features, a compromise of its basic function -- making and receiving calls -- can make it seem more like a personal digital assistant or fancy media player instead of a phone. If your Treo 755p has been giving you problems lately with dropped calls, try these quick fixes to restore your talk time.
Third-Party Software
If your Treo 755p drops calls only when in a specific location, poor signal reception can be the cause. Try making the call from an open area, a higher floor in your building, near a window, or outside. Use the Treo's speakerphone option or use a headset to move the signal away from your head, which can also obstruct signal, when you cannot change your physical location.
Hard Reset
Perform a hard reset to fix any software issues that can be causing the dropped call issue. Sync the Treo 755p to your computer to save any important files. Remove and reinstall your Treo's battery, then hold the "Power" button once the black status bar appears. Hold this button until the bar disappears, then look for the "Reformatting in Progress" screen. Wait for the phone to reset, then press up on the navigation key when the "Erase all data?" prompt appears.
Update Palm OS
If your phone has an outdated version of Palm OS, this can affect signal and be the cause of your dropped calls. Updating the software can help the phone detect stronger signals and significantly decrease the ratio of dropped calls. Connect the phone to your computer and open Palm Desktop to check for updates
