Scan 35mm Slides On A Hp G4010 Scanner

Scanning 35mm slides with the Scanjet G4010 is not a difficult process.

The HP Scanjet G4010 can scan many different kinds of objects by virtue of its flatbed design and large top cover. The scanner also has the ability to scan transparent materials such as photo negatives and slides, allowing you to store the images from the slides or negatives on your computer. The scanner's transparent media adapter is compatible with 35mm slides. The adapter will hold up to five slides at a time, helping you to scan large batches of slides with greater speed.

Instructions

1. Turn on the scanner and open the scanner's lid. Grasp the tab on the transparent media adapter (TMA), located on the inside of the scanner's lid, and pull the adapter out of the lid.

2. Insert the slides into the adapter with the front of the slides facing toward you and the top of the slides pointing up.

3. Insert the end of the TMA that doesn't have the tab into the slot in the inside of the scanner's lid, then slide the TMA all the way into position. Slowly close the scanner's lid.

4. Push the button on the top of the scanner that has a photograph icon on it. Click on "Picture" in the window that appears on the screen of the attached computer.

5. Click on "Scan Positives," and then on the box next to "Show Preview." Click on the "Scan" button to begin the scan.

6. Make any necessary adjustments to the scan, then click on "Finish." Remove the slides from the TMA, then reinsert it into the scanner's lid.
