Stepbystep Help For Powerpoint 2007 Slide Master

The PowerPoint 2007 slide master lets you customize the style of the presentation.

The PowerPoint 2007 slide master is used to determine the style of your presentation. Using the slide master, you can change the watermarks, footers, themes, placeholders and the other graphical elements of your entire slide presentation. These changes are global, so you will customize the presentation to your desired preference. You can use digital photos, logos, customized fonts and custom headers and footers to make the PowerPoint template more personalized.

Instructions

1. Open PowerPoint and select the "View" tab. Select "Slide Master." The slide master displays the title slide and remaining layouts used in this presentation. Changes made to the slide layouts and placeholders in the slide master will affect any slide using this layout or placeholder in the presentation.

2. Edit the title slide. Select the title placeholder by clicking on the edge of it. Right click on the edge of the placeholder, and a mini toolbar will then appear. Select the "Bold" shortcut. Change the font. Notice how this change is reflected in the other placeholder.

3. Right click on the background of your title slide and select "Format Background." Select one of the gradient fills. Notice how this color change affects all of your slides.

4. Scroll through your slide layouts and select one that only has footer placeholders. Select "Insert Placeholder" from the "Slide Master" tab. Select "Content." A plus sign indicator will appear. You can customize this slide by dragging the placeholder to the desired size.

5. Finalize your changes by clicking on the "Close Master View" button. As you insert different slide layouts, they will reflect the various modifications you made in the Slide Master View.
