Burn A Mini Dvd

A Mini DVD holds just a fraction of storage compared to a full-size DVD.

A Mini DVD is similar to a typical full size DVD but its diameter is only 8 cm across. Because of the lesser physical size of the disc, it also holds less data -- 1.4 gigabytes instead of the standard 4.7 gigabytes. Burn information to a Mini DVD by following the same steps as burning a regular DVD, provided that the disc is large enough to fit all the information.

Instructions

1. Insert the Mini DVD disc into your DVD writer disc drive. Center the disc in the tray so it will spin properly and be read by the laser.

2. Launch your disc writing software that you typically use to write information to DVDs or CDs. Select the "DVD" medium instead of "CD-R" or other media options presented. Also choose the format of disc you'd like to create, such as "Data Disc" or "Video Disc."

3. Place files onto your disc. Navigate within the box containing items in your hard drive and select items to add to the list. Keep an eye on the total amount of information you've queued to burn and make sure it is below 1.4 gigabytes.

4. Click on the "Burn to disc" button. A progress bar will appear. The task will take several minutes to complete.
