Replace The Memory Stick In A Sony Cybershot Dscw5

Using a digital camera's memory

The Sony Cybershot DCS-W5 uses a recording medium called a Memory Stick. The camera is compatible with both Memory Stick and Memory Stick Duo formats. The memory card doesn't come with the camera, but is available at many electronics stores in the digital storage section. When you have filled your Memory Stick with pictures, simply remove it and install a new card and continue taking more photos. Swapping Memory Sticks takes just a few seconds and does not require any special tools.

Instructions

1. Power off the camera before attempting to replace the Memory Stick. Press the power button at the top of the camera.

2. Open the battery compartment by sliding the access cover toward the side of the camera and lifting up.

3. Press the old Memory Stick down into the camera to release it, and then pull it straight out of the camera. Place the Memory Stick in a protective case to avoid damaging it while it's outside the camera.

4. Insert the new Memory Stick by aligning it with the slot. Orient the card so that the gold connectors are leading and facing the rear of the camera. Slide it into the camera until you hear it click into place.

5. Close the battery access cover by lowering and sliding it toward the center of the camera.
