Troubleshoot A Jvc Grd370u

JVC's GR-D370U digital video camera is a Mini DV (Digital Video) cassette, SD (Secure Digital) and MultiMediaCard compatible device. It is not compatible with other memory formats. The camera records in NTSC format. Problems with the digital video camera can be related to power, recording, playback, advanced features like focus and other issues. Problems that occur with the JVC GR-D370U can be rectified by following some troubleshooting steps.

Instructions

1. Connect the power properly if the camera will not charge. The battery pack should be secure and not move. The AC adapter should be firmly connected. Remove the battery and the AC adapter and reconnect to confirm.

2. Set the tape's erase protection tab to "Rec" if recording cannot take place. The tape may be locked on the "Save" setting. The tab is on the back of the cassette.

3. Clean the tape heads if recording quality has deteriorated over time and playback is poor. Tape heads are prone to wear and eventually deteriorate. Insert a commercially available tape head cleaning cassette. The mechanical nature of the tape functionality also will cause problems with age. You may find longevity in the product by using the card recording functionality whenever possible because the card function is not subject to the same wear.

4. Set the focus to the "Automatic" mode if the focus does not adjust automatically. Press the "Focus" button twice to get there. Other advanced features allow you to make fine adjustments to backlighting conditions. Press the "Backlight" button to compensate for backlight. Set the recording mode to "M" and then choose an effect like "Spotlight" for example, if you want to compensate for subjects that appear too bright, like when shooting in strong lights.
