Use A Kodak 5500 Printer

Kodak 5500 EasyShare All-in-One Printer

Who would have thought 20 years ago that most U.S. households would have their own desktop printers capable of doing everything from printing plain text documents of any font to digital pictures for the family photo album? Unfortunately, as with any new technology, there is a learning curve to learn to use these amazing machines.

Instructions

1. Check the connections. Plug in the Kodak 5500 printer power cord into the outlet. Plug the USB cord from the printer into your computer's USB port.

2. Install the printer drivers. The driver is the program that tells the computer what printer you have. You will likely have a CD with the software and drivers. If not, check Kodak's support page listed in the additional resources to find and download the driver.

3. Print a test page to check if the printer is configured properly for your computer. Go to the Control Panel. Right-click on "Printers" and choose "Properties." Select the "Print Test" page. If the page prints normally, the printer is set up correctly.

4. Use the Kodak printer program to configure the printer to your preferences. You can select a number of options depending on the kind of printing you want to do and the size of the paper.

5. Scan and copy documents or pictures by lifting the lid of the Kodak 5500 and placing what you want to copy face down at the rear upper left of the glass. Close the lid and press the copy button to display the copy menu. Set the copy parameters to your specifications and choose the quantity. Press Start to copy.

6. Print pictures on the Kodak 5500 by connecting your camera to the printer or inserting a memory card into the appropriate slot. Press the Photo button to display your photos in the preview pane. Scroll through your photos with the arrow keys. Select the photos you want to print by pressing the "up" arrow. Press Start to select the print options and print your photos.
