Operate A Canon Eos 5d

Take and print high-quality photos on the Canon EOS 5D.


Photographers who want to take high-quality photos should choose a digital camera carefullly. One option is the Canon EOS 5D digital camera. According to Canon, the EOS is a high-quality digital camera designed for ease of use and quick shooting. The device has a 3.58 X 23.9 mm CMOS sensor, and 12.8 megapixel resolution. The EOS 5D is capable of printing true 35mm size pictures directly to your printer, and lets you select image quality, style, and color settings.


Instructions


Install and Charge the Battery


1. Remove the battery from the camera by pressing the "release" button, and detaching the battery.


2. Insert the battery into the charger by aligning the front edge with the following mark: "". The mark is located on the top of the battery compartment on the charger.


3. Connect the charger's power cord to the charger and plug the cord into a wall outlet. If the charger has it's own prongs, flip them out and plug the charger itself into the wall outlet.


4. Wait for a red light to appear on the charger, then extend the charge time for an additional hour.


5. Open the battery compartment. Slide the compartment lever to your right. Insert the battery by placing the battery's contacts toward the bottom of the battery compartment. Close the cover.


Take a Picture


6. Turn the mode dial to the first setting by turning the mode dial counter-clockwise.


7. Look at the camera's viewfinder, and frame a subject. Make sure that one of the nine "AF" points visible in the viewfinder is placed directly over the subject.


8. Press the shutter halfway down for several seconds to allow the camera auto focus function to work.


9. Snap the picture by pressing the shutter button down completely. Press the "Play" button to view the pictures.


Take a Self-Timed Picture


10. Press the button labeled "".


11. Turn the dial until you reach the "Timer" button. Focus on a subject in the viewfinder. Press the shutter button halfway to lock in focus on the picture. Do not stand in front of the camera while doing this, or the camera will not focus properly.


12. Press the shutter down all the way. A ten second timer begins counting down until the picture will be taken automatically. The on-camera lamp will light in the last two seconds before the picture snaps.


Print Your Photos


13. Turn the dial to the "Communication" setting, and press "Set."


14. Turn the dial to "Print/PTP". Press "Select."


15. Connect the camera's printer cable to the printer port, located on the left side of the camera. Plug the opposite end of the cable into your printer.


16. Power on the camera, and turn on your printer.


17.Press "Play" to view the picture to be printed. Turn the dial to the "Print" setting, and press "Set." The picture outputs to the printer.
