Use The Timer On A Canon Powershot A610

The Canon PowerShot A610 is a 5-megapixel digital camera with both an optical viewfinder and an LCD monitor for composing your shots. The camera has autofocus and a built-in flash that you can set to use automatically or manually. If you want to take a group shot with some friends, you don't have to be left out of the picture. Use the self-timer option to have the camera take pictures automatically.

Instructions

1. Press the power button to turn on the A610. Set the "Mode" switch to "Shooting."

2. Press the "Func./Set" button to bring up the camera's menu on the LCD screen.

3. Press the up/down navigation keys to select the icon of the clock, which will have a number next to it indicating the current timer setting in seconds.

4. Press the "Func./Set" button to see the timer settings menu. Press the right/left navigation keys to select "2" or "10" to set how many seconds you want the timer to delay before the camera shoots a picture. The default option, an icon of a blank square, indicates that the self-timer mode is off.

5. Press the "Func./Set" button to save the change. If you want to make a custom timer setting, press the right/left navigation keys to highlight the clock icon with a "C." Press the "Menu" button, press the right/left navigation keys to select a custom time in seconds, and then press the "Func./Set" button to save the change. The "Shots" option menu will appear.

6. Press the up/down navigation keys to highlight "Shots," and then press the right/left navigation keys to select the number of shots you want the camera to make when the self-timer activates. You can choose between 1 and 10 shots. Press the "Func./Set" button to save the change.

7. Place the camera on a stable surface or tripod, compose your shot, and then press the shutter button fully. The self-timer lamp will blink and make a sound, and then the camera will take a picture after the time counts down.
