Disable & Unlock The Security For Exchange On An Htc Diamond

When you add an email account to your HTC Touch Diamond Pocket PC, you may encounter some errors when setting up an Exchange account. The HTC Diamond can't enter or disable secure details, as is required for Exchange Server connections. In fact, you do not need to disable and unlock the security. You can set up the email using ActiveSync instead. ActiveSync automates all security options during email account setup.

Instructions

1. Press "Start > Programs > ActiveSync."

2. Tap "Menu > Add Server Source."

3. Type in your "Email address," then select "Attempt to detect Exchange Server settings automatically." Select "Next."

4. Enter the login information and click "Next." ActiveSync attempts automatic configuration. Enter the "Server address" if prompted. At this point you can choose whether to "Enable" the "SSL authentication" -- security measures. Click "Next."

5. Select the data you wish to sync from: "Contacts," "Calendar," "Email" and "Tasks." Click "Finish."
