Sugar Boots are darling, daring, attention getting footwear for the woman who wants to be uniquely individual. Most Sugar Boots are made with fun printed canvas fabric uppers and rubber soles. But they're easy to make look like new again.
Instructions
1. Scape off excess dried mud and debris. Use a stiff brush to remove any remaining dirt and any ground in dirt.
2. Using a soft brush, sponge or clean cloth, wash the boot lining with gentle soap and warm water to remove accumulated salts and grime. By reaching into the inside of the boot sides and foot area with the brush, sponge or cloth that is full of soapy water and scrubbing in a circular motion, you should be able to loosen and remove any dirt, stains or odors that had built up inside the boot.
3. Rinse the inside thoroughly by repeated applications of clean water using the sponge or cloth until there is no soapy residue left. Allow the boots to completely air dry.
4. Clean the outside of the boots, by mixing a weak mixture of liquid laundry detergent and water. Gently scrub the outside with a soft brush to remove dirt and stains. Rinse the boots well with cold water to ensure that all the fine particles and soapy water are gone.
5. Wad paper and stuff each boot to retain the original shape. Place the boots in a warm location, away from any heat source like a heater, and allow them to air dry completely. Then remove the paper.
6. To keep the Sugar Boots protected in the future, spray a fabric water repellent on the outside of each boot and let it dry completely.
Tips Warnings
Take your time in cleaning the boots and allowing them to completely air dry will give you the best results. Since graphic Sugar Boots are made of canvas fabric, getting them saturated with water will not be a problem and reshaping the boots is done after the outside of the boot is cleaned (Step 3 4). It is more important to make sure there is no soap left in the fabric because the soap will attract and trap odors and dirt.
