Replace A Tail Light On A 2008 Sebring Convertible

How Do I Replace a Tail Light on a 2008 Sebring Convertible?

Replacing the tail lights in your 2008 Chrysler Sebring does not require advanced automotive knowledge or experience. It's a relatively straightforward maintenance procedure that you can perform at home without the assistance of a mechanic. Because the Sebring's convertible top stows inside the trunk, it's best to replace the tail lights with the top up rather than down. This makes accessing the bulbs easier.

Instructions

1. Step to the rear of the Sebring and open the trunk. Look against the trunk wall on the appropriate side to find two plastic nuts. These nuts keep the tail light secure.

2. Twist the nuts counterclockwise to unscrew them then firmly grasp the exterior part of the tail light. Pull it towards the rear to release it.

3. Turn the tail light bulb connection counterclockwise and pull it straight back. The tail light bulb is the outer bulb. The inner bulb is the turn signal.

4. Push the plastic tab on the bulb socket to release the bulb from the electrical harness. Discard the bulb. Insert the new bulb into the harness. Push it in firmly to snap into place.

5. Insert the bulb into the tail light housing. Twist it clockwise to attach it. Reinsert the tail light housing into the cavity.

6. Reattach the two nuts. Turn them clockwise to secure the tail light housing.
