Some Grohe shower heads come factory-equipped with a water flow regulator. This device restricts the amount of water flow when the shower is in use. This component is designed to reduce a residential water bill. However, it has the unfortunate effect of making showers longer to achieve the same result. If you have a Grohe shower head equipped with a water flow regulator, you can easily remove it to increase the water pressure.
Instructions
1. Turn off the water supply at either the main water line into the home or in the bathroom, whichever option is applicable.
2. Place a towel over the shower drain to prevent any small components from falling into the drain line.
3. Wrap another towel around your Grohe shower head, then grip the shower head with a wrench and turn it counterclockwise to remove it. The towel will prevent your Grohe shower head from getting scuffed or scratched by the wrench.
4. Take out the washer then look inside the shower head for a cylindrical object or another small washer-like component.
5. Insert a flat head screwdriver or a pair of needle-nose pliers into the back of the shower head and pop or pull out the regulator.
6. Replace the shower head and tighten it down onto the water supply line with the wrench. Turn the water back on and use your shower as usual.
