Use the scanner's transparent media adapter to scan slides.
The HP Scanjet 3570C scanner has the ability to scan a number of different materials due to its flatbed design. In addition to being able to scan three dimensional objects, the scanner can scan slides and photo negatives with its transparent media adapter (TMA). The TMA sits in the inside of the scanner's lid. When using the TMA to make a scan, initialize the scan with the scanner's software on the computer instead of pressing the buttons on the outside of the scanner's lid.
Instructions
1. Open the top cover of the scanner, revealing the scanning glass pane.
2. Peel back the top edge of the lining on the inside of the scanner's cover. Pull the lining completely away and put it aside.
3. Pull on the tab located on the left side of the transparent media adapter. It's located on the inside of the scanner's lid. Remove the adapter completely from its slot.
4. Grab the left edge of the center insert in the adapter and pull it toward the left until it comes free. Insert the slides into the open end of the adapter, sliding each one down to the other side to make room for more.
5. Insert and slide the transparent media adapter into its slot in the scanner's cover. Gently close the scanner's lid.
