Memory In Windows Mobile

When you use your Windows Mobile Smartphone for a variety of purposes, you will eventually run short on memory. This is particularly true if you store emails, documents and media on your Smartphone. Fortunately, Smartphones are ready to accept expandable memory to give you a large storage capacity to store all of the items you use and need daily on your phone. Double check what is compatible with your Smartphone before purchasing any memory, and then buy a memory card with ample memory capacity to store all of your important items.

Instructions

1. Visit Microsoft.com to find out what storage card(s) are compatible with your Smartphone. Enter your service carrier and the brand of your Smartphone. Place checkmarks beside the options of your Smartphone. Click "Go," and the Microsoft site will provide all of the Smartphones that fall under those criteria.

2. Find your Smartphone from the list of phones presented and click the link. Scroll down to the "Hardware" section on the left side of the page and find "Expandable Memory." Look to the right of this, and you will find the type of expandable memory that your Smartphone supports. This is the type of expandable memory you must purchase.

3. Choose the appropriate memory capacity that you think is adequate for your needs. This may be as small as 2 or 4 gigabytes (GB) or much larger.

4. Find the slot for your memory card on your Smartphone. This slot may be on a side, the bottom or the top. It will likely have a rubber cover over it and may have a blank card inside to protect the slot from dirt and dust. Open the cover and remove the blank card if there is one.

5. Position your memory card so that it is directly over the slot, and carefully push it in until you hear a click. Do not force it. If it will not insert, you likely have it in wrong. Take it out and reposition it before trying again. Push the memory card in gently until it clicks.

6. Transfer files on your Smartphone after installing the memory card. Open the "File Manager" and highlight any files or programs you wish to transfer to the memory card. Select the "Move to" option, and then select "Storage Card" to transfer the files to your storage card.
