Fix Apps That Will Not Open On An Iphone

Applications that won't open on your iPhone may be corrupted due to an improper download, and can be corrected by deleting and re-downloading the application to your iPhone. According to Apple, problems with your application may be due to outdated firmware on your iPhone, which can be updated through the iTunes program when the iPhone is connected to your computer. If the application remains unusable, it may be incompatible with the iPhone's current firmware, which requires waiting for the developer to release an update for the application.

Instructions

1. Hold your finger against the application's icon on the iPhone screen until it begins to shake.

2. Tap the "X" on the top left corner of the icon to remove the application from your device, and click "No Thanks" to skip rating the application.

3. Plug the docking cable into the iPhone and into your computer's USB port. Open iTunes, and click select the "iPhone" icon in the iTunes' source pane (side menu).

4. Click "Check for Update" in the Summary window in iTunes to check for new iPhone updates, and click "Download and Install."

5. Click "Next" when the iPhone Software Update window appears and click "OK" to install the new software. Click "OK" after the update is complete, and click "Eject" next to the "iPhone" icon in iTunes.

6. Tap "App Store" on your iPhone and re-download the application.
