Write To An Sd Card

Writing to an SD card is easy.

The Secure Digital Card (or SD card) is a storage device developed by SanDisk, Toshiba and Panasonic for use in various electronic devices, including cameras, camcorders and personal computers. Data is usually transferred automatically from cameras and camcorders to the SD card. However, data transfer from a PC to the SD card is a slightly different procedure.

Instructions

1. Insert an SD card into your computer's SD card slot. If your computer doesn't have an SD card slot, you'll need to insert the SD card into a USB memory card reader and connect the reader to an available USB port on your PC.

2. Select the "Open Folder to View Files" option from the "Autoplay" menu that usually appears after inserting a media device. If the menu does not appear, click "Start" then select "My Computer" and then select the SD card icon.

3. Write files to your SD card by dragging them into the SD card window. When completed, you can remove the SD card from your PC or memory card reader. If you 're writing to a USB memory card reader, you'll need to disconnect the USB device by right-clicking the hardware icon in the taskbar at the bottom of your desktop and selecting the "Safely Remove Hardware" option. Afterwards, you can safely remove the memory card reader.
