Troubleshoot A Kodak M893

Kodak's M893 IS is lightweight and can comfortably fit into your pocket. It has 8.1 megapixels of image quality, a 3x-optical zoom lens and a 2.5-inch LCD display screen. It also supports SD and SDHC cards for additional memory. There are a few problems that can pop up when using the camera. They range from the minor (unable to connect to PC) to the major (unable to switch the camera on).

Instructions

Camera Won't Switch On

1. Open the battery compartment. This is located on the bottom right of the camera. The battery compartment cover flips open and just needs to be released. Do this by moving the panel away from you, then allowing it to swing open with gravity.

2. Remove the battery. It could be as a result of something as simple as the battery not being correctly inserted. Replace the battery and try the power again.

3. Find the USB/AC cord that came with the camera. Your battery might need charging. Plug in the camera; let it to charge for a couple of hours.

4. Buy a new battery if it is defective.

Blue Screen When Reviewing Pictures

5. Connect the M893 to your computer using the USB cable provided. Ensure that the camera is off when you first plug it in, and then switch it on when it's connected to your PC. Transfer all the pictures over to your computer. To resolve this issue, it means formatting your memory card, which will mean losing your pictures if you don't back them up.

6. Press "Menu." This is located at the right of the LCD screen, below the "Delete" button. Scroll down to "Format," and open the sub-menu.

7. Highlight "Memory Card" and press "OK." Only do this if you're absolutely sure that you've now got copies of any pictures you want to save. When you press "OK," the memory card will be wiped and formatted to suit the M893.
