Use A Sony A380

Activate the A380 "Self-Timer" mode to capture self-portraits properly.


The Sony DSLR-A380 single lens reflex digital camera features a sliding monitor, which pivots away from the camera back and allows you to view the composition as you look down. After the batteries are installed, the memory card is inserted and the lens is attached, you might have questions about operate the A380. The basics include image capture, use of the zoom function, scene mode selection, flash mode selection, image review and image deletion.


Instructions


1. Twist the mode dial on the top-left side of the A380 to "Auto" and twist the monitor on the back of the camera to a comfortable viewing angle. Point the camera at the subject and frame her within the monitor or the viewfinder, which is the small window on the camera back.


2. Twist the "Zoom" ring, which encircles the lens, if the lens is a zoom lens, to zoom into or away from the subject. Twist the ring clockwise to zoom into the subject or counterclockwise to zoom away from the subject.


3. Push the shutter button on the top-right side of the A380 halfway down to achieve automatic focus and setting adjustment. The focus indicator button lights up inside the viewfinder or on the monitor to let you know that the subject is in focus and the picture is ready to be taken. Depress the shutter button completely to take the picture.


4. Twist the mode dial to the appropriate scene mode to capture specific scenes. For instance, if you wish to capture a portrait, twist the mode dial to "Portrait" or the setting marked with a face to blur out the background and soften skin tones. Shoot full ranges of scenery with sharp focus and dense colors by setting the mode dial to "Landscape." Twist the mode dial to "Macro" to capture close-ups of objects, such as insects, flowers or coins.


5. Press the navigation button on the A380 back to the right toward the icon marked with a lightning bolt to cycle through the flash settings, until you highlight the desired flash setting. Highlight "Flash Off" to turn the flash completely off regardless of the lighting situation. Highlight "Fill-Flash" to command the flash to fire with each capture regardless of the lighting situation. Highlight "Autoflash" to allow the camera to decide when the flash fires based on light readings.


6. Press the "Play" button or the button marked with a triangle on the back of the A380 to activate image playback. Press the navigation button to the left or right to travel backward or forward through the image library.


7. Highlight the image you wish to delete and press the "Delete" button or the button marked with a trash can icon to delete it. Confirm the deletion using the navigation key and the center navigation button.
