Best Toilet Flapper To Buy
Hello, every year or two it seems I have to buy another toilet stop flapper. The hole is very clean and no bad spots, but the flappers have a very slow leak to them. Is there one flapper that really seals good? Your thread may get moved to toilets, so hang on. Korky makes good flappers. Your water situation may dictate increased chemicals that deteriorate some rubbers. Look for one that is impervious to chemicals, as most Korky higher end ones are. Larry is Chandler's first name and that and the line below are his signature. As to your original question, are you putting bleach tablets in the tank? They'll tear up a flapper guaranteed. No I have not been using bleach tablets, but thanks for letting me know. Depends on the toilet make and model. Some need OEM period!!!! Especially kohlers. I went nuts trying to figure out why my toilet kept leaking and running. I went through several flappers including the OEM Koehler. It still dripped. I inspected the seat of the tank drain and it was perfect. Finally I realized that the foam gasket around the seat assembly was now protruding up just slightly and was pushing up on the edge of the flapper. I trimmed the foam gasket with a sharp knife and the toilet worked perfectly! Just wanted to pass that on. Jim That's good to know will keep it saved in my tips incase of future trouble, Thank You
