An envelope in use
Envelopes are an essential item for gifts, mail items and home organization. There are several different sizes of envelopes out there, but it is next to impossible to have every size envelope available in the home exactly when it's needed. However, many homes have standard 4-inch-by-8-inch envelopes available. Smaller envelopes can be created from standard-sized envelopes using just a pair of scissors and a glue stick. In practically no time at all, anyone can make a 4-inch-by-4-inch envelope that can be used for cards, mailing or any other use.
Instructions
1. Measure 1 inch in from the left and right sides of the envelope and mark this point with a pencil. Cut off the left and right edges of the envelope at the pencil marks.
2. Fold the lefthand opening inward 1 inch and crease the fold. Repeat the process with the righthand opening.
3. Spread glue on the inside flaps of the left and right open edges and press the openings closed. Hold the openings closed until the glue starts to dry.
Tips Warnings
Allow the glue to dry completely before putting anything inside the envelope.
