Honeywell rth6350 thermostat wiring
I need some help to be sure I am wiring a Honeywell RTH6250 thermostat correctly. I had the old mercury switch thermostat and replaced it with a Hunter 44905. I couldn't seem to get any auxillary or emergency heat with the Hunter. I' Was the Hunter wired correctly in the first place (is it just a piece of junk like some posts have said)? How should I wire the Honeywell? Here is the wiring: Old wire color Hunter Honeywell? O orange O O/B R red R R Y yellow Y Y G green G G X brown C not used W2 (jumped to E) white A/E (no jump) E/Aux (no jump) Do you have a make and model for the old mercury stat? Numbers on it are: Q674L1157 and 8329. I tried attaching a pic but the system wouldn't let me. Were there any unused terminals on the old stat (like B, T, or H)? List them if there were. Pics can be posted using Photo and image hosting, free photo galleries, photo editing | Photobucket On mercury stat, B and L were unused. You were wiring it correctly but jumper Aux to E. Old wire color Honeywell O orange O/B R red R and RC (jumper factory installed) Y yellow Y G green G X brown not used W2 (jumped to E) white E/Aux ( jump) You must also configure to match your system. option 1 = 5 option 2 = 0 3 = 1 set all CPH to 3 Aux and E are the same terminal. What does CPH mean? Also,was my Hunter wired correctly? Also, could my brown X wire by my auxillary wire? If so, should I connect both the X and W2 to the Aux/E terminal? CPH means cycles per hour. I forgot that Honeywell combined Aux and E on new stats. This wasn't always the case... The Hunter was wired correctly. Probably wasn't configured properly.
