Around The Clock Wedding Shower Ideas

Around-the-clock wedding shower ideas will allow the bride to enjoy a full day of gifts.

If you're hosting a bridal shower for someone who could use several different types of personal and household items, having an Around-the-Clock shower is ideal. For this type of shower, guests give gifts to the bride-to-be that coincide with a specific time of day, to create a day full of gifts and useful appliances that the bride can use in her new home.

Morning and Afternoon Gifts

Purchase gifts like a coffee maker, waffle iron, bath robe, or a gift basket filled with 'morning essentials' (shower gels, shampoos and conditioners, pumice stones, and specialty soaps) for the bride to use during the morning hours. An iPod or gift certificate for iTunes will make a great morning gift as well for brides who like to exercise in the mornings, or listen to music while preparing for the day. Traditional afternoon gifts for the bride-to-be include dessert and salad plates, along with dishes like cake plates. However, you can also purchase a series of books by the bride's favorite author, or a DVD box set of movies you know she would love to watch on a lazy afternoon when she wants to relax.

Evening and Late-Night Gifts

The gifts that are purchased by guests are assigned by evening and late night categories and

can include a pair of silk pajamas for the bride, a set of quality linen for her bedroom, or pots and pans and cookbooks for preparing dinner. Nighttime gifts can also include a couples gift basket, complete with a romantic movie, an assortment of fruits and chocolates, and aromatherapy oils to awake or relax the senses. Tickets to a movie for the bride-to-be and her future husband, or a gift card for dinner at their favorite restaurant would make a great evening gift as well, and will help the couple to save money on an enjoyable night on the town.

Additional Accessories

In addition to purchasing a gift for the guest of honor that is in keeping with the time of day you've been assigned, you can buy smaller items that will help the bride to chronicle how she uses her gifts. For instance, if you buy an iPod or exercise-related gifts for the bride, include a journal so that she can document her progress with her prewedding workout plan. You may also want to give the future bride a disposable camera and a small photo album, so that she can take pictures of herself using some of the gifts, such as a photo of her baking a cake with the mixer she was given. The photo album will make for a great conversation piece the next time all of your friends and family are together, and will serve as a reminder of the great time you had at the shower.
